We're cleaning up a 1958 Johnson Seahorse 3 Model# JW-14 and in the process, damaged the brass fitting on the fuel filter. We've been told this part is no longer available. Any ideas on where to find a replacement or if the 1959 filter can be adapted? Thanks.

Roberta,Is the fitting in the tank?If so the 1959 one should screw in OK.But it may require a hose instead of brass tubing. If so,change the fitting on the carb as well.Another idea is use fittings from your local harware store, use hose and an inline filter. Not original, but functional.Be sure hose is fuel rated.<br />DHPMARINE

Thanks. I did some more research and with the help of Phyllis at Strange's Boat Shop in Eaton, Ohio, found a place in Texas that has our part. Sure hope the rest of the job goes smoother than this. - Roberta
