We have a tacho with a system check and a horn drive. Does anyone know how to connect them all together as we seem to be getting lost in this harnesses. Possibly use a "Y" connector (Johnson p/n 176794?) Myabe conversion wiring harness or something like that (p/n 8040300)?

LTA...welcome to the iboats forums....

If the engine is a 99' the harness should already be up under the dash already. Check with your local Johnny/Rude dealer. Hard to say when your half way around the world.

Bombardier makes adapter kits in case you have a 1996 or later motor on a boat with 1995 or earlier wiring in it, or vice versa. See your dealer. I think the adapters are listed in the Parts and Accessories Book.

Thank you for your comments. I think I might as well put it in a different way to make a better picture. There is one harness but two inputs on two pieces of equipment like into the horn drive and system check in tacho. How do we possibly connect them all together? Do we need one more wiring harness something like Y connector or this horn drive may just be disregarded? Is it really necessary in this engine?

At the dashboard end of the factory wiring harness should be three connections, one for the key switch, the large one for the SystemCheck tach or gauge, and one for the warning horn. There will be 3 taped up wire, purple, black, and gray, then 2 more for the trim gauge, white/tan and black.

If you have anything different, then you do not have the late model wiring in the boat. Your best bet is to consult a factory service manual or a knowledgable tech.

Yes, this is exactly what you are saying. The large one is for the SystemCheck, one for the key switch, and one for the warning horn. This is fine but where do I put this horn drive on? One connection is missing. I have two choises here either to connect the horn drive or the SystemCheck but I want all of them or is this 'horn drive' part really spare one? My own suggestion would be one more wire something like Y connector or am I getting it wrong somewhere here?

You do not use a horn driver if you have the system check gauge and the plug in warning horn. Turn the key to ON and make sure the 4 lights illuminate, then turn off in sequence, and that the horn sounds a beep to let you know that it is operational.

The horn driver is a unit that takes the place of a system check gauge in certain applications. Is there a part number on it so we know we are talking about the same item?

Thanks for explaining it a bit some more. The part number of the horn driver is as follows 176794. Does it look like that we do not need it at all doesn't it?

Yep, the worning horn beeps OK. Does it re-asure us that we do not use the horn driver on this boat/engine?

use that horn driver as a mini-anchor, give it away, or try to get your money back. Glad to hear that everything else is working OK.

Hey, many thanks! :D I think one additional mini-anchor may come in handy! I kinda liked this place. I'll be back if I have some more questions ;)
