hey guys -
i've had a problem for quite some time with the motor being real hard to start and all of a sudden cutting out at WOT or going down to 2000rpm and not accellerating from there at WOT. I replaced the rectifier, stator, powerpack, and then assuming that it was a fuel problem i changed out the fuel line and fuel/water seperator. All that seemed to help the hard start problem, but it still intermittently cuts out or slows down at WOT. Any suggestions??

Sounds like two seperate problems. The dropping to 2K may simply be that the motor is going into S.L.O.W. (speed limit overheat warning). Once it goes into SLOW, you have to stop, shut down and restart to reset.

Good luck!

Thanks!

However........I tried shutting down and restarting and it did the same thing. If I idle for 15-20 min and then try again it works for a while....but then does it again.......restarting doesn't seem to help though :( still think its SLOW?

Captain John, I have a 1995 200 ocean runner and have had some electrical problems with mine. Try diconnecting the shift switch wire, just unplug it. You dont have to take the switch out. Its located under where your throttle cable and gear cable hook up to engine ..That shift-switch grounds out 3 cylinders when shifting. If that doesnt change anything dont forget to hook it back up..
