28hp charging system

I checked the output voltage on my 1993 28hp and she gets up to 16volts at cruise throttle. What kind of charging system does it have?<br /><br />Thanks!

It's a 4 amp. unregulated system.

I'll try keeping it in the same thread, but does my 28 have a thermostat? It's always pumping water through the tattle tale at the same rate. Any ideas?

Yes, it does, Look right above the top spark plug. 3 bolts to get it off under the cover..
