Picture of a 1975 75hp Stinger

Hey,<br /><br />Anyone out there have a picture of an original 1975 75hp Johnson Stinger? The one on my boat was painted entirely black by the previous owner and I'd like to try to make it look a little more original.<br /><br />It seems the damn thing was orange, but I'd like to see a picture of the decal/paint scheme...<br /><br />Thanks in advance,<br />Chuckster

Hi Chuckster,<br /> I've got a hood for one - I think it's a '75/75. I'll snap a photo of it. E-mail me directly to remind me... (csr112-n@prodigy.net). It's not for sale - I've got other pieces and am going to build one at some point. I've already got a 1980 version, plus a couple other years' Stinger hoods. The vintage hoods will fit later model 3-holers, and I am thinking of redoing a late model 70 with the retro-hood. Always did like the "Mean Machine" as they called it...<br />- Scott

Thanks Guys, <br /><br />Chinewalkers looks like the model, but mine is (was) bright orange. I know I've seen the orange ones before, anybody have a pic of one?

The pic McSlaught showed of my Stinger is of the '77 or '78 hood. The original hood for mine is a checkered flag style hood (1979 & 980 model years) - the base gasket rotted off and I put the '77 hood on for now until i replace the base gasket. The orange hood pic is on its way soon...<br />- Scott

Motor was red with black decals. Replacement decals are available on ebay, paint can still be bought through an Evinrude dealer.
