Evinrude 55 1969 Gear

http://and.apollo.lv/Zobrats/zobr.htm <br />I have such a problem with my forward gear (all other gears are OK). What do you think, can I just ask some specialist to cut out bad part at some machinery, or should I buy new gear? If so, where can I get it?<br /><br />Andris

This depends on cost of labor and availablity parts. You might find a budddy who can weld up that chip and mill it down.

tha machinist told me not to. The metel is hard and will cause problems. best to replace!

you can probabley git one from a junk yard for motors . there is one in salasaw ok. cant remember the name sinse you live in oklahoma . you might not be far away . first find out what year modles will interchange . they have a website cant remember the address . i lost it when my pc crashed . papasage

yep that is it . do a search and there is more . my brotherinlaw lives in ok. city . lost a prop i found a place ther in ok city. told him about it and it was not far from him . made him a great deal on a new one . <br /> i have a 79 55 hp and a 74 75 hp like them both .papasage

The problem is I live in europe In Latvia, there is no old stuff like this, here the boats are entertinement of the rich people and there is only very expensive engines/boats and service for them Old stuff like this engine is very rare and not servicable here.<br />I know that i can't weld this thing, this place will probably be softer and will deformate very quickly, but the idea is to hone off the crashed piece of both things, they will get thinner, but probably big enough to drive?<br />One more idea is to buy the thing in internet and send to one pal in Chichago, he will resend to me, I will check the mentioned stores.<br /><br />thx<br />And<br />And

some gears are the same foward and reverse . if that is posable just reverse and dont go backwards .
