howdy i got two questions for you guys.<br /><br />1. what kind of spark plugs am i suppose to use?<br />2. can i use one of those ear muff thing(for the water). if so were does it go?<br /><br /> thanks for your time

1 more question. my boat has a tachometer. how do i know if its hooked up and working properly?<br /> thanks guys

You don't until you test it against a known good instrument. On the other hand,they normally work just fine or are completely off/dead.

Im having a hard time finding plugs for this motor any help would be apperciated.<br />thanks guys

Original plug was a Champion J4J, gapped at 0.030. <br />Champion stopped producting the J4Js, but the J4C is a readily available direct replacement. They just updated the electrode a bit I guess. The gap stays at .030".<br /><br />Hope this helps!

Any doubt on the muffs, run it in a barrel or a test tank. Better safe than sorry!

i have a 69 85 hp and i use it on the muffs all the time. above your prop on the leg youll find 4 lil square hole with screen, it goes over those
