Hullo

Just purchased this outboard. I note on the fuel connection site it says 100 to 1. I recall seeing a post somewhere on one of the forums that said it is better to use 50 to 1, than 100 to 1.

Why I ask is that I put 50 to 1 in it. Runs okay with one person. Motor revs well. Add a little weight and motor revs and prop speed slow down.
Am I fouling the plugs with 50 to 1.

Thanks in anticipation. Will be purchased a manual for this model,

Trev

motor def should be run at 50:1

some smaller motors can be run at lower ratios if you use it for slow speed operations mostly.. 50 : 1 will not foul your plugs

Trev,
Yes, you're right, OMC DID at one time suggest a fuel mix ratio of 100:1, but later recinded it. Running at 50:1 is safer than 100:1 (more lubrication). Some say that running at 100:1 is OK for slow trolling only. Best bet is to run your motor at 50:1 using regular unleaded gas. No, your not fouling your plugs at 50:1.
