Model Numbers

Hi <br />I know you guys must have been asked a thousand times before but what is the code word for the Johnson Model numbers.... and how is it interprated to find out year, HP, place of manufacture etc???<br />Cheers<br />Steve

Many Thanks Dave....<br />Can I just see if I am interperating my model number correctly<br />Model No J4 BRCNR<br />J4 - Johnson 4 Horse Power<br />BR - British Made<br />CN - 1982 Manufacture<br />R - Rope pull Start<br /><br />Is this correct or have I got it around my head!!!! <br />Cheers<br />Steve

Looks like you got it Steve.<br />I didn't know about the BR designation though.<br />I think the "r" at the end is a manufacturing run number. The "r" after the "b" designates rope start.<br />Maybe someone more knowledgeable will chime in here. <br />Glad to help, Lord knows I'v gotten my share of help around this board.<br /><br />Dave

BR = Euro Rope Start<br />Last letter is the model run number(R)<br /><br />the rest is correct..
