Hey guys....I have a 1969 115hp evinrude with no lower unit. Model#115983E My question is my mid-section is set up to use a hydro-electric shift.(no hole for manual shift linkage) I can find a lot of manual shift lower units but I can't seem to find any used hydro-electric lower unit that fit my bolt pattern.(6 bolt holes) How can I (if possible) make so my midsection has a spot for the manual shift linkage?? Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Best thing i can tell you is if your power head is in good shape look for a manual shift that has a blown one and install yours it think it will interchange, electric shift models are scarce as hens teeth and when you do find one they are high, not many whan them untill someone wants to buy one. Good luck.

I haven't had trouble finding them (good V4 hydroelectric lower units) for $50-200. Try eBay, but if you can't find one post back. Lots of people sell them when the powerpack blows.

Thanks a lot guys!!! I've put in a request @ Horne's in St. Petersburg and I also finally found one on ebay that I think may work. And if all else fails I guess I will just look for one with a blown powerhead and buy that one.

Thanks again and keep up the GREAT ADVICE!!!

Make sure if you buy one with a blown powerhead that they give you a title with it.

BTW, anything from a 1969-1972 V4 will fit (85/100/115/125). Nothing else will...the LUs from the triples look identical, but they don't fit.

Re: Swapping electric shift for manual shift.

I just sold a guy a blown 1972 125 today, for $75. He wanted the power trim setup. If you get stuck finding one, post back & I'll see if I can't get you guys hooked up. The lower unit shifted fine & the case was good. It'd need a re-real & a fresh water pump.

Thanks a bunch ledge..I was wondering how many different LU's would fit and that helps a lot. If I don't get the LU I'm currently looking at I'll post back to let ya know. Also Bass runner title for a blown motor??

Again thanks guys I don't know what I'd do without ya.

Hey Ledge if you happen to come up with one let me know. I'd be more than willing to work something out. Also how do I find out the year and hp of the LU if the powerhead is unavailable or is it even possible.
