6 months ago I bought a runabout with a 1985 Johnson 90hp VRO engine on it. For the first 3 months it had heaps of power and ran great. After a long trip I put it on the water and it was barely able to pull me out of the water. It still runs fine but I have lost probably 800 RPM in my WOT revs and it seems slow to accellerate, even without a skier behind. Used to run out to 5800 RPM. Now I can only get 5000. I have tried replacing fuel lines, primer bulbs, spark plugs, etc. I have had it to a mechanic but to no avail... Please help!!

What is compression? Will spark jump 7/16 gap at cranking rpms? Fuel pressure at idle and at 2000 rpms? Last time decarb was done? last time WOT timing was checked? Last time anti-siphon valve was checked? Last time carbs cleaned and float set to specs? Spark at all cylinders? Is VRO no wire, three wire or 4 wire pump? Fuel filter cleaned? Oil in gearcase?
