So when you swapped coils, #4 did fire? Can you be a little clearer on this please...

Re: power pack or not

On the number cylinder, it is most likely coming from the pack. I had the same problem on my boat. It turned out the whole pack was bad. I have a 175 johnson with one power pack, and the whole left side wasn't working. With yours, make sure all the connections are good and the wires are still attached where they're supposed to be. Check the book to see about testing just the pack. If it tests good, it might be a bad ground or somewhere else.

Before you do everything I said above, try the same thing you did, but don't swap the plug wires. It may be just a bad plug wire.

The plug wire is good, i had already swaped it out with #3 wire. How can i check the power pack with just a regular volt meter?? I thought you had to have one of those special meters.

Instead of buying a new one why not swap them from side to side?
