Boat Not getting on Plain like it should or has been

I have 1983 Evinrude 150 V-6. Having problems with the boat getting on plain. Past few trips to lake this has happened. I get on the gas to get the boat out of the hole and it takes is a long time for it to get up on Plain, this has not happened in the past, it has just started. I have changed the spark plugs and still has not helped. Have not added any weigh to the boat, it is less in it now than it did in the past. also when boat gets up on plain it runs good, not problems on top end. <br />Thank you very much for your help.

Sounds like a spun prop hub. Sometimes you can tell by taking the prop off and looking at the edges off the rubber on the back side. If it looks singed around the edges it is spun.If you have a spare prop try it. Usually they spin as a result of hitting something but not always.

But would I notice a lose in speed on top end or just in take off. will go check it out.<br />Also could it be in my fuel system somewhere.

anythings possible, my money is on the prop hub. and the last time i spun mine it still had top end.

The greatest load on the prop is during a hole shot so if the hub is loose this is where it shows.

Easy to check for a spun hub.<br /><br />1. Mark a line on the prop INNER hub.<br /><br />2. Mark a corresponding line on the prop OUTER hub.<br /><br />3. Run the boat.<br /><br />Do the lines still line up? If not=spun hub.
