Ok guys...I have a 1958 Evinrude 10hp, model#10016, ser#09186. I have good fire at the plugs, but the thing just won't start. It has been converted to a single line gas tank. I am using good fresh gas. Thanks a ton for any help

Hi Bob....welcome to iboats.

Since you converted to single hose, did you get a gas tank for single hose use and a hose with a primer bulb? If so......

Put some pre-mix in a spray bottle and give the carb throat a shot and see if it fires. If so....

Fuel flow problem....gas not getting out the carb to the engine.

Little info here if you would. How long has the engine set? Did you rebuild the carb? If you diconnect the gas line from the pump to the carb and squeeze the primer bulb, do you get gas?

If you supply the above info, it would go far in us helping you.....Thanks!

Hey OBJ, I dissasembled the carb, cleaned it real good, and the old motor fired right off. Geez, I pulled that cord all day, you'd figger I could have taken that carb apart sooner. Thanks a million for the post! Grizzly, I took the fuel pump and intake cover off of a 60's model 10 horse that wore out on me, really easy conversion, just swapped out the parts. Email me if you want the whole story.

Thanks again OBJ...

Bobber
