That cigarette sized whit tube is likely your fuel inlet, and has a fuel filter intergrated into it. The wires your are reffering to are likely vro wires. Normally these are disconnected when bypassing vro and running premix. It is my understanding they disable the no oil and low fuel alarms. If the oil line is still hooked up and vacuum is good in the cylinder that runs the vro it is likely still pumping. I would still hook it back up. It may have been left unhooked to silence an alarm.

Caato.<br />The small white tube is probably the "oil sight tube" so that you can visualy check to see if there is oil in the line to the vro.

ok.Just took the boat out for myself. Starts up great, idles good. From a standstill I give it full throttle and it goes to 4000-4500 rpm immediately, gets up on plane good. if i hit the choke it goes up to 5000-5500 rpm ( i don't leave it there- I let off back to 4000 rpm) and it run good-just won't go beyond 4000-4500 with the throttle unless i hit the choke again.

The choke deal suggests it's clearly a fuel delivery issue. Air leak in the suction side of the fuel system, failing fuel pump, clogged tank pickup, crap in one or more carbs, etc. A shop manual would be helpful in systematically diagnosing.
