Hello, I have a 2000 Evinrude 225 Ram Ficht Motor with what seems to be a misfire. The motor is on a 24' Gradywhite. The problem that im having is not at idle like most of the posts that ive read. As a matter of fact, it idles great. Starts up great. No Problems at all. She misfires at full throttle. Eventually the motor bogs down and dies. All upgrades, recalls ect have been performed by the dealer. The unit has brand new plugs and teh computer has been reprogramed by the dealership as well. They can find nothing wrong with the motor. Any ideas?

Do we know that the fuel supply is steady and even at higher speeds?

Does it make a difference if you leave the fuel filler cap loose?

Im not sure about the Fuel supply at high speeds.
After she came back from the shop the motor worked ok for a few hours then started missing again. I wondered about the fuel pumps..

Ill check the fuel filler cap tomorrow.

I did notice that the bulb is soft. Almost teh engine is being starved for fuel for some reason...

UPDATE:

All fuel filters and water seperators ect.. have been replaced. The Bulb is brand new. We also ran teh motor on a second temporary tank to eliminate the fuel in the boat and any vacuums being created or leaks. The motor is sill stalling out. The dealership says they can find nothing wrong with the motor. They checked the computer, coil, battery, ect, they say everything is fine.

One thing to note is the plugs are brand new but look fouled already. Im wondering if it could be running to rich? Wouldnt the dealer have found that though when he checked the computer? Any more ideas would be most welcome....

Another thought...

Cylinder Temp? This boat probably trolls a lot more than it runs wide open. Im wondering if the plugs are fouling because the plugs arent getting hot enough? How can I fix something like that?

Overcooling can be related to a sticking thermostat (open) on the lower right side of your engine. Put it in a bowl of water and then pour hot water in it to see if it opens correctly. Maybe there are pieces of debree holding it open.

Other suggestion: not properly indexed plugs

Other suggestion: port side temperature sender malfunction. it tells the EMM the temperature. If it's broken but still in the min spec. range the computer won't go into default mode but the EMM misreads the temperature and gives an improper fuel/air mix. That could cause plug fouling. The dealer can't read that on his computer.

I am currently experiencing the same with my 175 ficht ram.
