Hi i have a 1986 johnson 110 hp that ive had no problems with for over 15 years, i did a compression test and found these reading, 110,,111,103,108, The motor runs fine however ive lost some top speed in the last two years maybe due to the fact that the boat is getting older (1980 GLASTRON GT150) Its dropped down about 3mph. Would it be a good idea to just change the rings if the pistons and wall are ok ?

Your loss of speed, and probably rpm, is probably in part due to ethonal fuel, if they have it in Canada. Do the decarb first. Let us know what happens.

Without a doubt a decarb first before you start spending any serious cash !!!!
