I just replaced the impeller and the impeller housing on my 1981 115hp Rude, ran it in the driveway, peeing like a race horse, took it out and was doing ok then about 2 hours later, no water, help? any ideas?

My first guess is that the telltale is clogged. It doesn't take much. Is the motor itself hot to the touch? (my test is that it's OK if it's not so hot that I can't hold my hand on it for a few seconds - it will be hot, just not immediate burn the hand hot). Is there a mist of water coming out the exhaust? These are clues that the water system is working OK even though there is no water in the telltale. This happens to me all the time. It is usually solved by just removing the rubber tell tale tube and blowing through it or putting a thin wire through it. Now I have a water pressure meter so I don't worry about the tell tale anymore.

I putted all they way back in and after about 15 min at low idle speed i removed the engine cover and felt behind the flywheel and i could hold my hand there for about 10 seconds. should his be something of concern?

Did your hot alarm go off at all? To me if your hot alarm didn't go off, and you can hold your hand on the engine for 10 seconds, it's not overheating, but the tell tale is probably plugged. I'd suggest trying to take off the tell tale and clear it out. See if that does it.
