Can I add a fuel pump to a '58 Johnson Super Seahorse 18 hp?

Same as above , can I add a aftermarket fuel pump, like part number (Sierra) 18-7350.. to this engine,( engine being 1958 Johnson Super Sea-horse 18 hp) I think it should have some location to which crankcase pressure should drive the pump. as the cost of the pressure tanks are a bit much, this motor is for my father-in-law on his pontoon, and he does not want a pressure tank... he is 80 years young and pretty much set in his ways... :D

salty - sure you can. Usually that pump is mounted to one of the two bypass covers. It's a relitively simple matter to drill one out and attach. Even easier sometimes is to find a later model bypass cover with the holes already there and use it.
