Re: siezed motor

Hi I am not sure how many clys you are dealing with, but I used a 4 ft pipe and socklet to free a 4 cylinder and lots of breake free and marvel. I read a post here that says you can use a block of wood and a sledge hammer to hit the pistons since your heads are off the engine. I would only do this if your willing to buy new pistions and rods? I was willing to part the motor out if I broke anything. Turned out my motor starter up after freeing it up.<br />steve

Re: siezed motor

unlikely that all pistons are siezed.get the heaf off and try rocking the flywheel side to side. u may see a little movement in the free piston(S) so u know which one to work on. a block of wood and a heavy hammer may shift the siezed piston. if you got the head off you should be able to see which bore is the problem anyway indicated by scoring etc. treat the engine carefully however otherwise you may cause more damage to crank etc
