johnson ocean pro 200 problem

i have a 23 wellcraft excel starts fine, go to get up on plane it will not go on plane changed prop worked ok for the day then following week ok then 3 week same problem will not go on plane rpms stayed low then it was ok agian any idea on what the problem could be i noticed a hose inside cow its black with yellow stripe could find where it goes if it goes somewhere ,no alarm lights go on .no oil or gas leaks visible i also noticed the prime ball doesn't stay hard .thanks

You didn't say what year your engine is so we're gonna have to make an assumption or two. You're obviously losing power and it sounds to me like you're losing more then one cylinder. If your engine has a shift interrupter switch and it's malfunctioning, it will kill all three cylinders on the starboard bank. The shift interrupter switch is located on the starboard side of the engine at the shift linkage arm that's located at the bottom of the intake manifold. The wires from the switch to the engine have a rubber plug connector. Unplug this and see if corrects the problem.<br /><br />c/6<br />Hooty
