I am replacing the water pump on a 1994 225 Oheacrunner. After the shift linkage is diaconnected, the manual says to place gear selector in FORWARD for 60 degree V6 models and reverse for all other models. Is my motor a 60 degree V6?

THANKS !

From what I know if your tilt/trim switch is on the right of the cowling it's a 90 if it's on the left 60. looking from the back of the motor.

Look at your flywheel. The nut is the center of your crankshaft.Look at the port upper sparkplug, and the top starboard sparkplug. And look at the flywhel nut again. The "V" between the three points determines the 60 or 90 degree.90 is right angle, like a square corner,60 is closer, like a door partway open.

DHP

not being too 'curt' but I know it reads that way... just trying to get you on the water for a weekend.

All E/J 225's are 90 degree loopers.

On all 60 degree motors the flywheel is under a cover and not exposed like a 90 degree motor.

The venerable gray-haired Dhadley is correct. The 60 degree motors are only built from 75hp up to 175hp depending on the year.
