The motor has new plugs and new thermostat. The motor is used for watersking (20%) and the other 80% it is used for fishing with a trolling plate.<br />The last couple of times out fishing I trolled for about 3 hours but when I pulled the plate to start back the engine at about 3/4 throttle started to mis fire and I could only go 24 m/hr when full speed is 32 m/hr. I cut back on the throttle and made it back at 1/2 speed. Every time I tried to go past 3/4 throttle it started to miss. I let the boat sit for about an hour and started it back up and took it back out but the problem went away and I could not get it to do the same. The problem only seem to occur after trolling for long periods of time. The motor runs great any other time and the compression is fine.

The plugs seem to be fine and they are all the same. I have been adding 1 once of carb cleaner per every 5 gallons of gas. The motor is stained black coming out of the back 2 exhaust holes. I will try your recommendations from your attached.

I have been told to drill a 2 to 3 inch hole in the centre of the trolling plate to help with this problem. Have any of you heard of this before.
