Re: Getting on the plane efficiently

Hey Sangerwalker,

I have been very busy since I started this thread. This a.m. on the way to work I went out to have a look at my prop. Well as it turns out the prop has three holes drilled in the appropriate places. I do not know if this is original to the prop or a modification. I would suspect that it is original as the engine is a '98 model. So it's all down to the trim. Hopefully will get a chance to try it out this weekend.

By the way the holes are about 8mm in diameter (5/16th's).

Cheers
Andrew

Does anyone have any I/O venting experience?

I agree with the idea that he should learn to use the tools 9trim) that he has now. The question was efficiency and the best thing he can do is what is done on airplanes to get them off the ground - flaps. On boats they are called trim tabs. Nothing will outperform trim tabs for ease of planing. For a boat this size look at our Smart Tabs in the median size.

This is not my boat but my hull is identical. Have a look a the shape of the transom, look at the bulges to accomodate the steps. Would it be possible to fit tabs?

Transom rear view

Cheers
Andrew
