1963 Evinrude 40hp selectric shift (model 40373)

What spark plug wires should I buy? I don't see a listing for them specifically in the catalog (NAPA) I have. Do I get solid core, supression or what? And are there any things that I need to know about the spark plug boots?

Thanks!

Re: Spark plug wires

7mm, and only solid (metal) core like Don C says.

I'm embarrassed to say, but it took me years to figure out those boots. Simply rip the old wire out of them, and using a pair of needle-nosed pliers reach in and grab the metal 'spring' inside through the hole where the wire just went in. Pull the 'spring' out, stab the new wire with it so it hits the core (you'll see what I mean), lube it and the boot up with (preferably dielectric) grease and re-insert it, pushing on the wire.
