Low Voltage

I have a 1989 Johnson 90hp that has a three year old battery that never charges fully. I had a voltage of 12.30 before I started it today. Ran it up to 2000 rpm and then the voltage was showing 12.50 and stayed at 12.50 after I returned to idle. Is this enough to maintain the battery ?

Re: Low Voltage

The voltage should be 14 volts plus-engine running.

I believe you may have popped your rectifier or blown a fuse. The fuse would be near the starter.

Good news, neither is expensive.
