1st Question: Can anyone let me know what kind of mpg I should be getting from this engine. The engine is on a 18 ft. Starcraft.

2nd Question: What kind of compression reading should I be seeing.

Thanks !

weimar63@mach1pc.com

On your second question, JJ, all cylinders should compress withing 15% of each other using identical technique. This is the important concern in compression testing.

Actual PSI readings will vary with the guage and technique but typically exceed 100PSI. On a 40 year old engine I wouldn't worry about readings if they are over 85-90PSI.

Good luck. :)

At wide open throttle that engine will burn 7.5 gal. per hour, and that old 75 will.
