2004 Johnson 30 hp.

Has anyone had a problem with the manual engine tilt mechanism repeatedly breaking on them??? I've had this engine for two months and the engine tilt lever while trailering my boat with the engine in the up position continues to bend and then break. Please advise if this is a unique problem or common with this engine? Any fix ideas?

Robalo, get a transom saver to support the engine while trailering. The tilt mechanism really isn't made trailering. To much bouncing around.

I believe your owners manual says to trailer that motor in the full down position. If you don't have the ground clearance for full down, then do as OBJ says and get the tansom saver.
