You will have to start at the beginning, sensor, down to power pack.

vmax - Do you have the shop manual for your motor? Best to methodically troubleshoot the problem rather than throwing parts at it that will only make you take out your wallet, turn it upside down and shake vigerously.

The 1973-77 V4 ignition uses two sensor coils, one powerpack, and four ignition coils. The sensor coils are up under the flywheel. One sensor coil fires cylinders 1 & 3, the second fires 2 & 4.

First, disconnect the black wire with yellow stripe going to terminal 1 on the powerpack. That is your "kill" wire, and the motor will no longer stop with the key - so better have the plugs out or be ready to stop it with the choke. What we're doing here is ruling out a problem with your remote control box. Still the same, just spark on #2? OK, it's not the control box.

Try swapping the wire from the powerpack to ignition coil #2 to another ignition coil. The other coil is firing now? OK, sounds like it's either your powerpack, or the timer base.

Try swapping the sensor leads for 2 & 4 with those for 1 &3. Does the spark move with them (that is, do you now get spark from #1 or #3)?
Could be the timer base, though you should be getting spark from 2 AND 4 if it's just the timer base.

Check it out & let us know what you find.
