Johnson 25 hp year?

Can someone please tell me the year of this Johnson 25 hp? Model number FD-17B and serial number is 2373640.

if it's a 25 hp it is a RD an RD-17 is na 1955

Also, if it is a FD-17, then that is a '63 18hp. A late '60s or 70s 25hp cowl will fit that engine.<br /><br />Easy enough to tell the difference - the '55 25hp has a all metal cowl, while the '63 18hp is fiberglass and metal.<br /><br />Without the 'Edit Post' icon, I would be lost.
