Seloc Manual Error

My Seloc outboard manual for Johnson/Evinrude has printed on the binding "3 and 4 cylinder outboards 1990-95" but on the cover says "Covers all 1-50 hp, 1 and 2-cylinder, 2-stroke, models".<br /><br />Do all Seloc manuals for the 1-50 hp motors have this same printing error, or should I put this on E-bay as a collectable?

Well Mark.....that's why OEM manuals are printed. Then ya' know what ya' got.... Not real sure what you would get on eBay for it....

I meant to return the Seloc manual after buying it because it did not impress me, but unfortunately the receipt was lost. I bought a OEM Evinrude manual and have used it exclusively. My experience has been that no manual, be it Chilton, or any other are as good as the OEM manual. Just sorry I bought the Seloc first. <br /><br />Need a Seloc manual? Used only once. <br />

hello<br /> common sense is also handy. be aware that occasionally the OEM manuals are wrong. most OEM mistakes are caught by us lowlife techs that read it and go hey I gotta call on this cause it looks FUBAR.<br /> good luck and keep posting

What Rodbolt says is true. There is no perfect manual. Revisions are made to OEM publications all the time through service bulletins. Since I have been involved with this board, trying to help folks fix there motors I have gained a real respect for anyone who writes manuals. Think about it. Try to put into words how all this mechanical and electrical stuff works and make it so the non-engineer can understand it. There are no magic wands, learning is learning, it takes time. A mistake is just an oppurtunity for a learning expirence.

Mark, in my book you've got one nice looking MFG there! I had a 1964 model several years ago with a 35hp Force (be quite everyone!) and loved it. Sold it to buy a 20' center console (115 'rude). Used to ride in a friends 17' MFG with a (get this) 135hp Evinrude Silver Starflite on it! Talk about movin'. Gee, the only place in Jersey that I know of that has cows AND horses, is Salem County. You anywhere near there?
