johnson 115 hp 1986

i was changing my lower gear oil the other day and it looked cream looking is that the color it <br /> is suspose to be ?

Should range from brown to black. Creamy swirled oil means there is water intrusion. Most common cause is not replacing seals on the fill and vent screws when changing oil. If that doesn't do it, it can be from a number of seals. Best bet is to get a seal kit and replace em all if it's been a while. A pressure and vacuum test can be done to pinpoint the intrusion point, but why go thru the effort to do that when a few dollars and another hour will be all it takes to change em out.<br />Good Luck<br />Welcome to the forum. Hello Gus....welcome to iboats....<br /><br />No...that's what it looks like when it got water in it. Ya' might consider a pressure test to see where it's leaking at.
