1988 Johnson Oil Leak

Hello all, can someone tell me if the oil running down the skeg is a bad seal on the prop shaft or just oil from the exhaust from running on the muffs.

What color is the oil?<br />if its black, no worry's as this is likely unburned oil leaking out the exhaust.<br /><br />it it's milky white or brown in color, there is water getting into the lower unit and you need to <br />replace the leaking seal's<br /><br />Good luck

Actually check the oil level.If it is gear oil,it may mix with the exhaust stuff and discolor.If the gearoil is full and clear,OK<br /><br />DHP
