Accu Mix Oiler System

I would like info on this oiler.I seen this on a 8hp evenrude in a gagazine, i am interested as i have an 8 hp johnson that i would like to instal it on.Any info will be apresheated.thanks. J,C,

If you are talking about the fuel tank mixing sustem, STAY AWAY FROM IT.<br /><br />It was short lived for a reason.

The Accumix system is still being sold at dealers for engines up to 50hp...approx $150. First ones came by 1986 (1986 OMC catalog has them). 100:1 ratio at first and later changed to 50:1). Newer versions are probably upgraded just like OMC did with their VROs.

You may need to upgrade the fuel pump if you get one. I remember that they needed a larger pump installed in place of those little square things.

WillyBWright, You're correct. My manual says an upgraded pump is necessary. However, I never did and the unit's worked well for me for 15 tears. Oops, I meant years. Go figure. Merry Christmas to all.

Hi JC1933, I hope you had a Merry Christmas. My manual came with the unit itself. It has it's own part #, OMC# 125890 6/88. Perhaps a dealer has one you could examine. If not, I have an extra copy I could mail to you. Best wishes, Pete
