Re: 99 Ficht 150 Updates

Back then the factory updates consisted of a kit than included new software for the ECU, new cylinder heads, spark plug types, oil pump, and miscellaneous clamps, fittings, and parts.

The '98 and '99 150-175hp models are not worth anything on the open market, even if they are in good shape and run well. Do not invest a large amount of money into it unless you want a "project" motor to play with.

contact bombardier customer service they will tell you which updates apply to your engine also they can tell which updates if any have been preformed
do you know why piston failure occurred???

if you rebuid this motor:

1. put motor back into break-in mode (computor required
2. check check valves in oil distribution manifold to be sure they all hold
3. i would replace oil lift pump and fuel lift pump
4. bleed oil system properly ask customer service how to do this (biggest single cause of power head failure on ficht product!!!)
5. squeeze oil return hose with pliers (engine running) until moter smokes alot
6.preform timing verifcation requires computer
7.check engine for w.o.t. r.p.m and make sure its running within specs if not change props until it will operate in spec ask customer service w.o.t. r.p.m. spec for your engine some of them where revised so don't count on manual being correct
good luck
