Hello out there, I have a late 70's Evinrude 65 hp three cylinder jetpump. The problem I am having is a white sludge in the center cylinder. This is the first time I have put the boat in the water in about 5 months. It fired right up and ran for about a minute and then just quit. The top and bottom cylinders are clean and look perfect, it is only the center one that is all sludged up. The gas is in good shape and it ran good before it quit. It also did not freeze this winter. I did however drop the boat off of the trailer at a drastic angle the last time I pulled it out of the water, due to a strap breaking( I went swimming ). The boat had a lot of water in it after this and I did not fire it up after this happened. Could this harsh re-entry have pushed water back up into this cylinder, only to sit there and wait for me to start it. I really do not think so because it started and ran for a bit. Thanks for any help.

Sounds like water in the cyl from the submerssion. I'm sure you will get recommendatios on this post to pull it apart and inspect the bearings. It would have been much better if you would have started and ran the engine before storing.
If you store your engine on it's side before all the water is drained out of your exhaut housing it can creep up into the cylinder also.
I personnally would try run a little 25-1 through(1/4 gallon) it and start swapping plugs to see if you can get the number two a firing again and inpect for moisture.

Thanks for the input Boltbreaker!!! I think I will pull the crank case inspection plate on the side of this motor and see what I can find inside.
