In an attempt to repair my dads reciently purchased fishing boat. I lack certain information
that could lead to the repair and diagnosis of what could possibly be an overheating problem leading to an engine stall and than no start. I don't know the engine size or year but I do have the model and serial number of the unit. serial# E02413 Model# 42752E . Any ideas would be helpful and greatly appreciated.
oldruder

Re: evinrude identification

Welcome to Iboats the numbers you typed don't compute take another look at them and post again
overheating can be caused by lack of lubrcation [gas and oil mixture] termostat bad, waterpump impeller bad ,timing wrong ,lean mixture[carb]
So try in post the right numbers because these ones don't make any sence missing one or two

Re: evinrude identification

mmm. 40752 would make it a 1967 40 horse,if it is an evinrude.Still it would be a zero instead of a 2.
Please check the number again and just so there is no misunderstanding, make sure it is a rudi.

Re: evinrude identification

I had my dad recheck numbers ,comes to find out that the 2 was actually a 0 making the model #40752 instead of 42752. thanks for the help in finding my clerical mistake. It looks like we own a 1967 40 horse evinrude.
