'75 115 lower unit removal

yes. I already know what you are going to say. get a manual. i have one ordered. I am trying to remove lower unit to replace my water pump and inspect other parts. i just cant seem to get it to break loose, also how do you get the shift rod unhooked from the motor for removal? thanks to all responders. bob

On the port side underneath the carbs are two "bellcranks" they need to be split apart to disconnect the shift rod.<br /><br />Once that is disconnected, make sure all the bolts are out. there should be a couple under the antiventilation plate.<br /><br />Since you already know... Get that manual...lol!
