Does anyone have experience with both of these products? If so, which do you prefer? How was coverage? Will I need more than 1 gallon for 18ft CC? Thanks

Yes you will need more than a gallon! We have had a lot of discussions here about using bed liner material and everyone seems happy with it. I would look at Walmart and get same type stuff there but cheaper and only in black.

The other alternative is to visit a shop that does spray on bed liners and have it done. Less mess just easier.

How hot does the black bed liner get in the hot sun? Should the black bedliner be avoided in certain climates?

Both are available in light colors. Has anyone experienced both? What did you like about it?

I know a charter captain down the road in Deale, MD that sprayed his boat...Every time I see him, he tells me how great it is. He used a very light grey (almost egg shell). Looks great. Next time i see him, I will ask brand he used.

I used Durabak with good results last spring, I like it and it holds up great. Get 2 gallons you will need it for an 18', I did my 15' center console and I barley made it with 1 gallon.

Where do you boat? I am out of the Saco River usually,

-John

Re: durabak or skid no more?

I just did my 18.5 " CC bayliner in Durabak light grey. I was able to do it using 3 quarts (under 1 gallon), however it would have been cheaper to buy 1 gallon. The trick with durabak is to thin it up to 20% with xylene after mixing in the accelerator, using a small drill mixer. The finish is beautiful; covers all that fiberglass, cracks, mistakes from sanding down the old carpet glue etc. Anyone that tells you to put a black bedliner in is obvously a human cannibal who would like to smell burnt feet. There is no substitute for durabak. line x leaves stains from bird doody, check the posts in the forum. Durabak is the most expensive but will look and feel the best on your feet.
