how to clean lake scum

i have a white lake scum line on the bottom on my boat wondering the best way to get it off? thanks john

best way is product called on/off. can be purchased here at iboats or any marine store. apply, let sit for a minute or so, scrub lightly, and rinse off. takes off pretty much anything. just be very careful with it. wear goggles and gloves, and don't breath too close to it. watch for it blowing if you spray it on. great stuff, can clean the waterline in about 15 minutes tops.

We use stuff called "Slimey Grimey" It's a pricey powder that we mix with water and spray on with a garden sprayer. Alge and stuff literally melts away. It's also known as Oxalic acid.

Try toilet bowl cleaner first. Not as caustic as on/off.

I used on/off with saltwater scum -- it worked like a charm. <br /><br />Question-- will on/of do harm to motor or outdrive if it splashes on while spraying of- being that it must have an acid in it?????<br /><br />Cool It
