After 20 years of running other boats (IO,OB,Comp ski boat) I am finally able to buy one. It will be docked during the summer in a fresh water lake. I am torn between OB and IO, would love the direct drive comp ski boat but too expensive. Boat will be used for pleasure, some skiing and tubing and fishing. Any ops on fuel economy for IO and OB. Seems that OB are less labor intensive on this sight, I always understood IO's to be easier to work on. Any input would be great, thanks.

Re: new boat owner

Welcome to iboats forums.

I'd love a comp. ski boat too, but my '84 Rinker Bowrider is going to give the fam all the fun we'll need.

My vote is for OB's all the way. I've owned 4 OB's and one IO in my time.

Jeff
