I got the lower unit seal kit as well as the water pump kit in. Now for the fuel pump issue. I disassembled and installed a kit in the carburetor and removed and cleaned the reed plates. At the bottom of the intake there is a 1/8 inch pipe nipple which connects to the fuel connector by rubber hose. I assume this is to allow intake pressure or vacuum? to go down to the old pressure type fuel tank. If it is pressure, can't I mount a diaphragm pump and use this pressure to pulse the pump, in turn pulling fuel up to the carburetor? If this will work, can someone quote a part number for the particular fuel pump? If this connection will not work, where do I drill and tap the block to accept a new fitting to provide pressure to the fuel pump, once installed?

Thanks,
FP67

.....Also, this engine does not have a fuel pump. It used the pressurized tank set up. I've been told that a fuel pump from a 60 hp can be adapted to this engine. However, I am unsure where and how to hook it up. I would assume it would use pressure from one of the cylinders to "pulse" the diaphragm.

All you need is a intake by-pass cover and fuel pump from a mid 70's 25 HP. Just take out the pulse nipple to the pressure fuel tank, and replace with a 1/8 pipe nipple.
