Trim but No Tilt.....? 95 150 "OCEAN PRO"

Seems to trims ok up/down (twin cylinder), but stalls at tilt (larger single cylinder).<br /><br />Sounds like motor is turning, somthing is going on. If I lift up it sometimes seems to catch, very eratic.<br /><br />I can hear the difference when the hydaulics start to work. Is it low on fluid or maybe worn seals, or rotor slip?????<br /><br />Today I tried putting hydraulic oil in the reservoir, thought it might just be low. What kind of fluid is it supposed to have and how the heck do you fill it??<br /><br />Anybody got good schematics parts break down anythign that can be emailed???? <br /><br />Help me nefore I have to take it to tha man..<br /><br />Thanks Everyone

Lets start from the beginning. When you tried putting oil in, where did you put it and what oil did you use?

Ok i did no actually put it in. I have hydraulic oil on hand, but was afraid to try and add somthing that may not be compatible...you know.<br /><br />The place I am talking about is as I face the stern of the boat looking at the motor, on the right hand side there is what appears to be a reervoir,plastic I think, there is a cap but it is located toward the bottom???<br /><br />Can you help Admiral???<br /><br />Thanks

That sounds like the right place. I would recommend getting some Trim & Tilt fluid from your local Evin / John dealer but ATF has been used.

What about procedure, up fill it, put cap on...leave off????

Raise motor all the way up<br />Top off reservoir<br />Cycle motor down and up 4-5 times<br />Top off reservoir<br />repeat until reservoir level remains topped off<br />Good luck
