i have a johnson ocean Runner 225, which was recently rebuilt courtesy of Hurricanes Jeanne.

what year is this engine?

J225TXETF
Numerous websites have ranged from 1995-1997?

I am in the breakin period and have added another gallon of oil to my 80 gallon gas tank. I have a remote oil tank of 3 gallons, with a primer bulb. But since i have my boat back i have been having troubles with the oil alarm going off, 4 to 5 seconds. Disconnected the oil line and primer bulb oil through incase of a air bubble or clog. no luck still going off after about five mins. of run time and when i increase the rpms it is a 1 min time frame. can some one please help. mechanic stated he had no problems when he rebuilt it and tested. says bring it in and he look at it. another service call.

can some one please help.

Markj321

mixing the oil is no problem but the alarm is going off, and I dont think he kept it long enough to check oil levels for that since i went in for a new black and cylinder ... i guess they never think of asking ,, i said if it needs replaced do it, but i got a new water pump and the magnet things on the fly and hoses and choke injecter thing but not that.

i took the star screws out since the post and the l looking thing in the tank with a clear material wrapped thing was good but i did find a something foriegn sucked up to the material and to the tube going to the line and engine , took it off and reinstalled and ran engine but it did last longer now for about 10-15 mins

the other pump you talk of is in the oil tank pump or in the engine comp.?
and this new pump you say is better? on the high side from my neignborhood omc dealer how much?

can i do it my self or use my regular guy as always and how much.? or by what i have said can you diagnose anything else????

thanks mark  ;)

the new oms pump is mounted on the engine
i,am assuming the no oil alarm beep every 1/2 second is sounding?
the pump is around $350 up here probably cheaper at your dealer(us$)
if they didn't replace pump on rebuild i highly recommend you replace asap as for diy depends on your mechanical ability its not hard and instructios are good
