2001 Johnson 35 quits, must wait a few mins to restart

I have a 2000-2001 Johnson 35hp, I believe it's Fuel Injected, it's a 2 stroke but you dont mix, the oil has a reseveor on the back side of the engine.<br /><br />Here is my delima: It runs smooth for about 10 minutes, then it shuts off, and it wont restart unless you leave it alone for 5-10 minutes, then it will run for a few more minutes. Earlier today I discoverd it will run fine on idle, but as soon as I put it in gear and give it near full throttle, it just shuts off.<br /><br />I ran old gas in it yesturday for about 15 minutes, it was fine then and then it started to give me problems, so I used my trolling motor to get back home and get a fresh, full tank of gas. Still having issues, I took the boat out of the water last night and have been piddling with it all day, I cant get it to work.<br /><br />I hope somebody can assist me in addessing this matter so I can FISH!<br /><br />Thanks,<br />Matt

Not enough information, really, to give you much advice. Your problem could be coming from a number of areas...fuel, ignition, compression.<br /><br />What have you done already to try to solve the problem, other than new gas?<br /><br />The fact that it runs OK, then shuts off and won't restart, suggests a possible cooling system problem to me, but I don't have enough info from you to go any further.<br /><br />You might consider taking this motor to the shop and letting them diagnose and repair it. "Piddling" with it probably isn't going to work. If you have a manual, good skills, and time, you can, no doubt, fix it.

Ive cleaned the spark plugs several times. I also think it's an electronic issue, preventing damage to the engine it shuts off, it's "peeing" fine. Perhaps I will have to take it to a shop.<br /><br />btw it's a 2000 Johnson 35hp Fuel Injected.
