Just bought this 1978 Glastron HPV-175 and took it out this Memorial Weekend to see how it handled & ran. Did great & engine runs like a scalded dog. But got to noticing gas smell when we shutdown at a spot. Could not notice anything obvious at the lake, but after returning home I checked more thoroughly and found the fuel connector (on engine) where fuel line connects has a ear broken off of it and is leaking. Thought it used more gas than it should; now I know why. Can anyone tell me what years will fit this 78 Johnson 175HP (for motor fuel connector) & where I might find one? Searched forums and did not see anything related to this, so I apologize it this subject is answered somewhere else. Just stumbled upon this forum & find it outstanding. Thanks to anyone who can help from a New Member.

I couldn't find cross references to other models, but the part number for your connector is 0376154, which replaced 0393334. I'd give your local OMC dealer a call and see if they have one in stock.

If you want to order one, check ishopmarine.com. They have a quick search feature that lets you search by part number.

Thanks for the Part Number CATransplant. I don't have a manual for this motor; need to find one. I'll check my local OMC & see if they can help. Thanks for the reference to ishopmarine.com also.

Thanks again CATransplant. Just contacted my local OMC and they can have it here in two days. Hopefully will get it on before next weekend & take it out again to see if there are any other minor problems. Do you know where I can get a copy of the manual for this motor. Thanks again.

Re: 78 Glastron HPV-175

Thanks for the info guys. Since the motor runs great above idle (Stumbles and dies at idle), do I need to fork over $$ for a service manual to set idle on this motor or can a novice like me with help from all the experts here do it without the manual. I've got lots of experience on automotive engine related stuff but have never played with outboards. Any advice greatly appreciated.
