Have you checked the fuel system (thinking crud in the carbs)?

cleaned last week by the dealer, know the owner quite well

Cleaned/Rebulit the carbs. checked the reed valves. compression check, new plugs and a new coil and it still runs crappy

Could the mechinaic say he checked the reeds but not???? Im goin to take the carbs off my self and checkt he reed valves

You'd be better off taking it back to him and saying it still runs like crap, since he did the work. If you start pulling stuff apart and then bring it back he could turn it around that you must have done something when you messed with it, even if you know him.

Hey..<br /> I called the shop and talked to the owner..<br /> he stopped buy after they closed today with some parts. we took the carbs off to check them, they were fine, checked the reed valves and they were fine. Looked at he fuel pump and for the 15 bucks i put a rebuild kit into it. put motor all back together and still runs like crap?!!?!?!? Now what?

If your motor has a fuel recirculation system test the recirculation valves and be sure they are functioning properly. They are one-way valves and should stop all flow in the other direction.

Ok, describe "runs like crap". Is it missing? Is it down on power? Running on 2? Or 3? Or ?????

Runs Like Crap = ON muffs it runs good. no skips or lack of power put it in the water and it is nutless(lack of power)

Hey....<br /> Called to see what my dealer had to say today. he told me he contacted Evinrude and They said that one of the Cdi boxes may have been be a defect from the factory. there sending a pair to replace the new one i replaced a week ago. Today i put the second set of new wires since they have already fallen apart. and i have decarboned it. it i haven't had it ont he water but it seems to run a little quieter! Could that be possible???

Took It out to the lake today.... WHAT A POS..<br /> runs great at idle but skips and jumps at anything above. tops out at 28 mph last year i was gettin close to 60out of it. the motors on a 18ft Bass boat

Hey...<br /> Talked to a couple of locals today and they told me to mix a gallon of Gunk 5 Minute engine cleaner, Red Fuel additive, Iso-Heat, whats left for room 93 octane fuel mixed 50 to 1. Run 1/2 gallon of mixture through motor and dump rest in full fuel tank. Worked like a Charm Motor Runs Great. That mixture cleaned it twice as much as the sea-foam decarbon did.
