I'm looking to add tilt/trim to my old boat (tired of manually hoisting the motor up) and am looking for leads to a complete tilt/tim unit for a '75 Evinrude outboard, 85HP. Any help appreciated!

You find them on E Bay From time to time or check out salvage places. New ones run close to $600.

Welcome to IBoat

Good Lucl

Thanks for the info. Could you recommend someplace to look for a new one?

Call Ralph at 631225 0077. He may be able to get a good used rebuilt unit. Good place for all your needs

Banks - I have a 48 SPL (with manual tilt and trim) so I feel your pain. I've been looking at the CMC aftermarket tilt systems. I seems you can pick them up for around $300 to $400. They are a little pricy, but everyone I've asked has said they're worth the money.

Banks - There is also an aftermarket bar which can be attached to the top of your motor. It gives you more leverage to lift the motor up and down. You can get them for around $20 to $40 bucks. I looked at them and decided to pass, but it may be what you're looking for in the short term.

Thanks for the leads, everyone. I've emailed the Outboard Wizard, so hopefully he can help!
