Can I run a 3 blade prop from my '69 jrude 9.5hp on my '66 erude 6hp? I know it fits but will it put too much strain on the 6hp? The 6hp only has two blades. Will this give me any performance gain or loss? I know this isnt a repair thread but it is a trouble thread. Hope Im not posting this in the wrong place. -woody74

Re: johnson 9.5 prop question

Let's take another look into this...
there is only 1 2-blade listed, as a 8X7-1/4P
There is also 4 3-blades listed and one is of less pitch....8X6-1/2P to be exact.
The next listed is a 3-blade 8-1/8X8P.
If either of the 2 3-blades I've listed is what your 9.5 had, you may be OK to use it.
Can you get me a P/N of the 3-blade you have???

I'm going to lock this thread as you have the same thread in outboard, non-repair....
