Throttle cable

The throttle cable on my 1969 Johnson 40 HP won't stay connected. The end of it fits onto a pin, about 1/4" in diameter, on the engine linkage. There is nothing to hold it onto this pin, it keeps popping off. Does anyone know what part I am missing?<br />Thanks,<br />Gordon

I know....and for a cold Bud Longneck I'll tell ya' what it is.....BUT...since we is almost neighbors....you need the spring clip that holds the casing guide in place. PN 310729. Available at any John/Rude dealer. "bout $7.
